Minnesota Work-Life Champions Award - 2006 and 2007

Karlsson Consulting was selected in 2006 and 2007 as a Minnesota Work-Life Champion for its efforts to create balanced work-life cultures by creating benefits, policies and environments that support its employees.

Karlsson was the bronze award winner in 2006 in the small company category and was among 12 Minnesota companies to receive recognition for championing a healthy work-life balance.

Karlsson received two levels of recognition in 2007, being awarded both the Work-Life Champion Award and the Innovative Initiative Award for the Company’s Individual Development Plan where the Company pays 100% of approved training costs towards the employee’s plans for professional development.

A group of local Chambers of Commerce, business and professional associations, foundations and work-life advocacy organizations make up the Minnesota Work-Life Champions Partnership which sponsors and presents this award.  The partnership’s January 25, 2007 press release highlights the importance of creating flexible work environments and lists all the recognized companies.

Minnesota Business Ethics Award - 2001

On May 22, 2001, Karlsson Consulting Group, Inc. was awarded the prestigious Minnesota Business Ethics Award (MBEA).

The award was presented by the Center for Ethical Business Cultures and the Society of Financial Service Professionals.  It recognizes Minnesota businesses that exemplify and promote ethical conduct for the benefit of the workplace, the marketplace, the environment, and the community.  Companies were judged based on what they say they stand for, how they do what they say they stand for, and how well they do what they say they stand for.

In accepting this award at the Minnesota Business Ethics Award Banquet, Max Horn, Karlsson Consulting’s President, gave a statement which read in part:

“I am very pleased and proud to accept this award.  When I started the Company almost seventeen years ago, I developed a set of Operating Principles that I hoped would create an environment where concern for our Clients, our Employees, and the Community could be balanced with our need to operate on a profitable and continuing basis.  I am happy to say that this formula has been successful.  It is very gratifying to be recognized for our efforts in this area.  Thank you very much for this honor.”
